The Irregulars Web Series Review
Status : Head Admin
Set in Victorian London, the series follows a gang of troubled street teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner, the elusive Sherlock Holmes.
Creator: Tom Bidwell
Stars: McKell David, Thaddea Graham, Jojo Macari
First the cinematography in this is wonderful.
Now there are very crucial mistakes that ruin the enthusiasm to watch the show further for me:
I get that the story is based on the mystery as it should considering the universe it's in, but what the characters are going through and why they're going through can't be one.
I mean why the hell are they in this predicament in the first place? What's fueling them to act this way as human beings?
Not a single clue.
Second but also immensely important, the trap music? How the hell this got into it especially on the first scene is puzzling lol, especially when you hear a score by an actual film composer afterward.
Just completely ruins the immersion hearing an 808 poke my brain when I'm watching the sight of a Victorian London on screen.
Third, Watson is black? What the f is this lol.
We can all agree the black community deserves all the respect possible after what they've endured but this would be like replacing Black Panther with a white guy it just doesn't work LOL.
Hope they get a second season for this series, the potential is there if they fix up those major points.
