#1 After trailing in the initial rounds, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren's JMM-led INDIA bloc made a stunning comeback and is currently ahead in at least 50 seats in the 81-member state assembly. The BJP-led NDA, which had a massive lead when the counting today, is now leading in 26 seats. The counting of votes for the Jharkhand assembly elections began at 8 am and is expected to conclude in the next few hours. The JMM of Hemant Soren fought in 41 assembly seats and gave the remaining ones to its allies - Congress (30 seats), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) (6), and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (4). The BJP contested 68 seats, while its allies, the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU) fought in 10, the Janata Dal (United) in two, and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in one.
