 Steve Smith and Mitchell Starc departed in quick succession right after Lunch, as Australia went nine down with 455 on board. Smith brought up a sensational 34th Test ton, and consecutive hundreds against India, oozing class and confidence to take Australia past 450 in the morning session on Day 2 of the fourth Test in Melbourne. India looked hapless in the outfield in the first session, and were only gifted a wicket as Pat Cummins tried to take the bowling on. He fell just one run short of his own half-century. Australia added 143 runs in 27 overs in the first session, and took complete control of the game. Rohit Sharma's bowling choices and field setting once again drew attention, with India struggling for ideas. (
