Shami, who returned figures of 5 for 53 in 10 overs, scripted history by becoming the fastest bowler in the world to claim 200 ODI wickets, in terms of balls bowled. Shami took only 5126 balls to reach the milestone, surpassing Mitchell Starc's record of 5240 balls. In terms of matches, Shami became the joint second-fastest in the world, and also the fastest Indian bowler to claim 200 ODI wickets. He achieved the feat in his 104th ODI match. Shami also became the first-ever India bowler with a total of 60 wickets in ICC ODI tournaments, surpassing Zaheer Khan (59 scalps). Talking about the match, Bangladesh were 35 for 5 at one stage, but Towhid Hridoy (100) and Jaker Ali (68) stitched a 154-run stand for the next wicket to bail the side out of trouble.
