Bangladesh lost five wickets in the first 10 overs, as Axar Patel was denied a hattrick after Team India captain Rohit Sharma dropped a sitter in the slips, leaving teammates in shock as well. Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana picked up a wicket each in the first two overs, before Shami got another. Towhid Hridoy and Jaker Ali rescued Bangladesh, taking them past 100, with India going wicketless for over 30 overs, as Bangladesh reached 150. This is the opening match for both teams, taking place in Dubai. India made two big calls with their playing XI, choosing to leave out mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy and pacer Arshdeep Singh, instead choosing the pace duo of Shami and Harshit.
