"Kareena Kapoor, the family is fine": the actress's statement on the attack on Saif

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times during a burglary attempt at his Mumbai home last night. Khan is currently admitted to the Lilawati Hospital, undergoing surgery.


The incident took place at 2.30 AM last night, and Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital around 3-3.30 AM.


The actor is currently undergoing surgery. His team requested media and fans to be patient, as this is a police matter.


A statement from Kareena Kapoor Khan's team read, "There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police are already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern."


Last night, Kareena Kapoor Khan reshared a story on Instagram, where she was dining with her friends Rhea Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, and sister Karisma Kapoor. Karisma Kapoor had put up a story of the dinner table, and captioned it, "Girls night in, @rheakapoor, @sonamkapoor, @kareenakapoorkhan."


An FIR has been lodged at Bandra Police Station, Mumbai, and a thorough investigation is underway.


As a scuffle broke out between the actor and the intruder, he was stabbed 6 times. The burglar fled the premises, as everyone in the house eventually woke up.


Three attendants are now being interrogated by the Bandra Police. One of them was also reportedly injured.


As of now, reports suggest that only one intruder is suspected behind the crime.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, along with their kids Jeh and Taimur were in Switzerland to for New-Year holidays and returned to Mumbai last week.
