After completing Plus Two (or equivalent higher secondary education), there are numerous entrance examinations for various undergraduate courses in India and abroad. These exams can be broadly categorized based on the field of study:

Engineering:



JEE Main:

The primary entrance exam for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. It's also a screening test for JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced:

For admission to IITs. Only those who qualify JEE Main can appear for this exam.

BITSAT:

For admission to BITS Pilani campuses (Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad).

VITEEE:

For admission to Vellore Institute of Technology.

SRMJEEE:

For admission to SRM Institute of Science and Technology.

MET:

For admission to Manipal Institute of Technology.

COMEDK:

NID DAT:

National Institute of Design Design Aptitude Test, for admission to NID campuses.

AIEED:

All India Entrance Examination for Design, for admission to Arch Academy of Design.

Hotel Management:



NCHMCT JEE:

National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination.

Fashion Design:



NIFT Entrance Exam:

For admission to National Institute of Fashion Technology.

AIFD WAT:

Army Institute of Fashion & Design Written Admission Test.

Other Entrance Exams:



CUET:

Common University Entrance Test for admission to various undergraduate programs in Central Universities and other participating universities. Covers a wide range of subjects.

IPU CET:

Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test, for admission to various undergraduate courses offered by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.

IISER Aptitude Test:

For admission to Integrated BS-MS programs at Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research.

NEST:

National Entrance Screening Test, for admission to Integrated MSc programs at NISER and UM-DAE CEBS.


For Studying Abroad:



SAT:

A standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States.

ACT:

Another standardized test used for college admissions in the United States.

TOEFL/IELTS:

English language proficiency tests required by most universities abroad.

GRE/GMAT:

Required for admission to graduate programs abroad (though some undergraduate programs may also require them).
